Завершающая повесть тетралогии, «Операция «Бродячий пёс», делает неожиданный пируэт: автор берёт своих героев — измученную физика Захру, её мужа-чекиста Амирхана, их дочерей и зловещего генерала Алави — и швыряет своих героев из декораций античной трагедии в декорации фарса а-ля «Доктор Стрейнджлав» или «Смерть Сталина», превращая монументальную драму в гомерически смешную и пугающе правдоподобную сатиру
